Ancient Chinese Art Projects

Which is the best culture to study for an Art project?
I'm doing 3 cultures and at the moment I have researched Ancient Greece, since I've always had interest in Greek mythology. I was thinking of doing Rome, but I figured it's a little too similar to Ancient Greece (if you know what I mean). I need something interesting and different. I know someone's going to recommend India, it's a wonderful culture but not original enough for me since I have a feeling that most of my class are going to be doing that. Japanese or Chinese culture I'm definately thinking about doing, but which do you think is better to study?
Anyway, just recommend as much as you can.
Thanks in advance guys.
Dutch or Flemish painting are wonderful. You may start with the Netherlands. Greece is the basics. Rome is a copy of Greece (enhanced, but still a copy). Portuguese architecture from the 1500s - 1700s is awesome. Goya and El Greco in Spain are just outstanding. Diego Rivera and Kahlo in Mexico are wonderful. The Italian Renaissance is simply out of this world, perhaps, the most beautiful expressions of humanity ever. As soon as you have THE opportunity, go and stay in Venice for at least a week. Life will never ever be the same. Also go to the Borghese Museum in Rome.
